EWA FLORIDA HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP BELT | CHAMPION | TITLE HISTORY
The EWA Florida Heavyweight Title Belt
The EWA Florida Heavyweight title belt was crafted by Dave Millican and was created from the original artwork of the original Florida title that was defended in NWA Championship Wrestling from Florida in the late 1970s and 1980s worn by such great champions as Dory Funk, Jr., Jack Brisco, Mike Graham, Barry Windham, Mike Rotundo, Dusty Rhodes and many others. The title was chartered in 2008, and the first champion will be filled in tournament at a date to be determined. NEWS UPDATE! Reigning Georgia Heavyweight Champion Beautiful Bobby Eaton of the Midnight Express has shown interest in vying for the Florida honors in addition to the Georgia title. Also rumored to be entering the tournament are Charlie Dreamer, George South Jr., former EWA champions the Barbarian and the Masked Superstar, Jack Funk, Ethan Cage, Jake Manning, and others. EWA president Joe Graham also mentioned to reporters last week that two men, both sons of former NWA world champions might also be in the tournament. Speculation is pretty certain that one of those men would be David Flair, who has competed in EWA rings over the last several years. But it is a mystery who the other might be. Obviously Mr. Florida, also a former EWA champion, will be in the tournament. Mr. Florida is currently on an extended tour of Japan. Graham also stated that Ricky Morton has been absolutely positively barred from competing in the tournament pending an upcoming hair and bandana review board hearing.
